Paintings from Valencia with Dutch Dreams”. “Orange is not just a color – it’s a language”

Welcome to the world of Brugel

🍊 Brugel – Art with a touch of orange

Where art grows among the orange trees of Valencia and blossoms in the color of her heritage: orange.

Alice lives in the heart of the orange region, surrounded by sun, scent, and color. That vibrant energy is reflected in her paintings – warm tones, intuitive shapes, and a quirky flair that evokes the sizzling Spanish sun and the down-to-earth strength of the Netherlands.

Orange is her signature. Not only as a tribute to her roots, but as a symbol of creativity, vitality, and connection. Every canvas tells a story, every brushstroke breathes character.

"Discover my story."

My working method

My work arises from a message — but also from my personal growth toward the true self. Authenticity means, to me: finding your real self and making it visible. I paint in layers, using techniques that go beyond paint: decorative plaster, acrylic, oil, spray paint, stencils. I work slowly and meditatively, with intuition as my compass. In my canvases, I often incorporate real dried flowers and fabric from Valencia — tangible memories of my surroundings. Each work is a translation of connection with yourself and the environment.

Where I work

No studio with white walls and fluorescent light. My workspace is where my life flows: the living room. I spread a canvas on the floor, open the doors, and start painting. The scent of oranges drifts in, the sun touches the linen, and the paint follows my hands with or without plan.
Everything begins here. Between coffee cups, a child’s voice, the calls of birds and distant animals, and the rhythm of the day. Each piece carries the traces of this place—layer upon layer, intuitive, tangible. My studio is not a space, but a mood. An open door, a breath, a moment in which color emerges.
My living room is not a studio in the classical sense. But it is the place where my work breathes, grows, and finds itself.
